SATSair's ground-breaking air cab service will change the way you think about air transportation.

Please take time to read the following FAQ's and realize the many advantages we can offer you.

Who operates SATSair?
SATSair is operated by aviation professionals with over 75 years in the industry.

How did SATSair get started?
The SATS (Small Aircraft Transportation System) research program is a joint effort involving agencies such as NASA and the FAA and the experienced industry professionals who in turn applied the concept to begin SATSair.

What is the SATSair Service?
SATSair offers regional point-to-point air transportation that is safe, convenient and cost effective. Aircraft are pre-positioned strategically throughout the service area, allowing customers to board a SATSair aircraft and depart with little notice. SATSair eliminates the frustrations of crowded airline terminals, long security lines and lengthy connections. In addition, SATSair utilizes numerous airports that the airlines don't, making it exceptionally convenient for rural destinations and multiple-stop itineraries.

How does SATSair compare to traditional aircraft charter?
Unlike traditional charter, SATSair offers one-way pricing within the service area - you don't pay for deadhead return legs. With strategically pre-positioned aircraft, SATSair also offers increased flexibility and minimal wait time charges. SATSair is less expensive than charter, but provides the same convenience and luxury.

What type of aircraft does SATSair use?
SATSair's Cirrus SR22 aircraft are some of the safest, most technologically advanced aircraft in the sky. These efficient four-seat aircraft combine the comfort of a luxury vehicle with unsurpassed safety features such as the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). The luxurious cabin appointments include leather seats and AC plug-ins for laptops and other electronic devices, and we provide in-flight snacks and entertainment for your enjoyment. The Cirrus SR22 can accommodate one to three passengers in addition to the pilot, and we hire only FAA commercial pilots with over 1200 hours of flight time to fly our aircraft and ensure your safety.

What is a typical use for the SATSair Service?
Typical use for the SATSair service is for business or pleasure, regional travel within a 300 statute mile radius. SATSair allows you to reduce a 2 to 5 hour drive to .5 to 1.5 hours of flight time.

How do I arrange for the use of the SATSair service?
We have dispatchers ready to serve you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact dispatch at 800.639.6192 for quotes and reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended but not necessary.

Where is the SATSair Service Available?
SATSair service is available at any airport within the prescribed service area, weather and runway length permitting. Because your safety is top priority, SATSair flies according to the safe operating limits of the Cirrus SR22. Our current service area includes much of the Southeast and we are expanding continually to better serve you. Please check our Service Area page regularly for more information.

Does SATSair have a late policy?
Yes. SATSair requires passengers to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled departure times. If you find that you're running late for a flight, we ask that you call our operations department at 800.639.6192, who will then notify the pilot. A late arrival may result in pilot wait fees and/or flight cancellation charges.

What is SATSair's cancellation policy?
All cancellations must be made at least four hours prior to their scheduled departure times in order to avoid cancellation fees.

Will the service area be expanding?
Yes, as more aircraft are added and public awareness and utilization grow, SATSair will continue to expand the service area.

Do you fly outside the service area?
Yes.

What does it cost to use the SATSair service?
The cost is less than charter and comparable to the airlines. Within the service area, there are no empty return leg charges. Block time packages are available at discounted rates.

If you do not need a block time package but would like to use the air cab service, retail flights are available and are charged on a per trip basis. These flights can only be scheduled up to one week in advance. Please contact our sales department at 800-639-6192 or sales@satsair.com for a retail flight quote.

 5 Hour Package $3,275 ($655 per hour)
10 Hour Package $6,150 ($615 per hour)

50 Hour Package $27,500 ($550 per hour)

Can I share a package with other people?
Yes, you may designate family or company employees as eligible to use purchased time.

How is utilized time recorded and tracked?
Utilized time includes occupied taxi and flight time as recorded by the pilot from the Hobbs meter on the aircraft. This is then submitted to SATSair's accounting department for deduction from your account. You will be given online access to your account so you can monitor your activity.

How does the Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System (CAPS) work?
The Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System is standard equipment on all of our Cirrus aircraft. During the pre-flight briefing, your pilot will provide basic instructions on how and when the parachute system is to be used. In the unlikely event of an emergency, the parachute will lower the aircraft and its occupants safely to the ground.

Is there a charge to have the aircraft wait for me?
All flights are subject to availability and must be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. It is not necessary to have an aircraft wait for you; however, if you are on a tight schedule, we recommend that you do. Wait time charges will be billed at a rate of $100 per hour.
